Tech Stack
The combined set of programming languages, frameworks, databases, and tools used to build and run an application.
What Is a Tech Stack?
A tech stack is the full set of technologies used to build and operate a piece of software — typically spanning the front end (what users see), the back end (servers and business logic), the data layer (databases and caches), and the infrastructure and tooling that deploy and monitor it all.
Stack choices shape a product's performance, cost, hiring, and how fast it can evolve. There's no universally "best" stack; the right one depends on the problem, the team's expertise, and how the system needs to scale.
